Roanoke Rapids Graded School District > Child Nutrition

 Welcome !

Many of our families may be feeling a tremendous squeeze on their wallets and I want to let you know that we can help!  Meals offered by our Child Nutrition Program are a healthy and economical way to make sure that our children are getting the nutrients they need to grow strong minds and bodies.

Studies show that students who eat school lunches consume fewer calories from fat, and that school lunches contain twice as much fruit and seven times the vegetables as lunches brought from home. With today's school lunches featuring a wide variety of fresh fruits, whole-grains and lean protein, you cannot go wrong dining in the school cafeteria.

I also want to let you know that an application for Free or Reduced-price meal benefits may be completed at any time during the school year.  You may call Gail Duke at 519-7119 or Leann Seelman at 519-7120 to request an application or to get more information.  You may also get an application at your child’s school, either from the office or from the cafeteria manager.

If you already eat with us, THANK YOU.  If you don’t, I invite you to consider the nutritional and economic value of school meals and give us a try.
