Former RRHS Exchange Students Return Home

It's been 8 years since Erica Effgen walked the halls of RRHS and performed on the football field with the dance team. Erica was an exchange student from Brazil hosted by Robert and Treva Neville and family for the 2009 fall semester. Erica loved her time in Roanoke Rapids. She, as well as her sister, got to do many things while in the states as an exchange student. Both girls got to travel to New York and both experienced their first snow while here. Erica recently graduated from medical school in Brazil. Both girls got to spend a two week vacation at the Neville's home in Roanoke Rapids, paired with stays in Emerald Isle and Raleigh.

Cecilia Effgen, Erica's sister, traveled as an exchange student in 2011 and was also hosted by the Neville family and attended RRHS, as well as, a member of the RR tennis team. She also loved her time in Roanoke Rapids and was so happy to spend her two week vacation from college here in the US. Cecilia will graduate in the Spring of 2018 from Architecture school.  Cecilia and Erica are from Vitoria, Brazil.

"I am so happy the girls got to come back to Roanoke Rapids to visit" said Treva Neville. "It was fun have them both here at the same time and see the sisters interact. We have kept in contact with Erica and Cecilia over the years through social media. We are excited to have them back in their American home and hope to travel to Brazil one day to visit them and meet their parents."
