SkillsUSA to Host First Event at RRHS

RRHS is proud to announce the beginning of a SkillsUSA chapter on our campus.  Our first fundraiser will be a student vs faculty volleyball tournament.  It will be in the RRHS Gymnasium on Monday, October 29th  starting at 6pm.  Admission is $5.00 and there will be concessions and a 50/50 raffle inside.  PLEASE come out and support our new club and our awesome students!  This game has the makings of an epic battle of the court!  District staff will get in free with your staff ID, although since this is a fundraiser, we would never turn down your $5 donation at the door!  We would even ask that you consider the donation  😁

Sports passes will not be honored.

What is SkillsUSA?

SkillsUSA is a student-led national association.  Its more than 360,000 career and technical education students and educators partner with businesses and industry to ensure that America has a skilled workforce.  SkillsUSA is organized into more than 19,000 school chapters and 52 state and territorial associations.  SkillsUSA’s mission is to empower its members to become world-class workers, leaders and responsible American citizens.  SkillsUSA can have an impact on the lives of America's future workforce through the development of personal, workplace, and technical skills that are grounded in academics.

Students will have an opportunity to work on these skills both in and out of the classrooms.  Focusing on school courses in the trade and industrial division, students will have an opportunity to demonstrate and compete at a regional, state, and national level of competition in such events as carpentry, welding, plumbing, drafting, crime scene processing,, emergency medical services,  and many more.

In order to give our students these awesome opportunities, we need funding.  This volleyball game and your donation could help change the life of one of your students.  Please come out and support them.
