Join us in welcoming our new Assistant Principal Tonya D. Jones. Ms. Jones is a native of Halifax County.
She received her Bachelors of Science degree from Saint Paul's College, her Masters of Education degree from Virginia State University, her Post-Master's Certificate in Advanced School Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and her Masters in School Administration degree from North Carolina State University as a Northeast Leadership Academy Fellow. She also earned the distinction of certification with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in School Counseling. She has 14 years of experience in public education, working with students and families in the Roanoke Valley through a federal TRiO program (Upward Bound) as well as in local elementary, middle, and high schools. She is excited to join the RRGSD family and looks forward to meeting all the Manning Mustangs in a few weeks.
