Enviva Donation to Benefit Belmont!

On Friday, October 20th, Mr. Roland Burnette, on behalf of Enviva Pellets of Northampton presented Belmont Elementary with $1,500 check to aid in the development of the school's MakerSpace.  Patrick Quast, assistant principal at Belmont was beyond grateful for the donation.  "Our goal is to provide our students with authentic, individualized, learning opportunities and our MakerSpace allows us to do just that.".  The funds will be used to create a unique, hands on learning space where students will be allowed to create and develop project based assessments that will expand upon the curriculum covered in class.  The Enviva donation will be used to build a Dream Deck, a two level sketching and planning structure that provides students with the space to diagram their ideas before bringing them to life with the wide variety of building and coding materials available in the MakerSpace. "We are grateful to have such supportive business and community partners, like Enviva, who are dedicated to seeing the children of Roanoke Rapids succeed", said Quast.
