Chaloner boys basketball team

Chaloner Middle School Boys Basketball Coach Sean McClafferty has reached an incredible milestone in his coaching career by earning his 200th win. The Chaloner Yellow Jackets bested Rocky Mount Prep on Thursday night with a final score of 55-28. Top scorers were BJ Davis with 19, Khamorae Wood with 18, and Erik Nunez with 7. The CMS boy’s team has a 3-2 record this year.

After the game, Chaloner Principal Larry Catalano presented McClafferty with a basketball celebrating the 200th victory. When asked how he felt about this accomplishment, McClafferty stated, “Even though it is listed as an individual record, if it wasn’t for the assistant coaches, players, and parents as well as the community and school support, I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish this. I’ve had great players over the years and I am grateful to have been able to coach them.”

McClafferty was named head coach of the CMS team in the fall of 2009 and his overall record is 200-32, which includes 8 Championships in 13 years and several perfect seasons. Catalano stated, "He has spent countless hours giving time and effort to the program and is a true asset to Chaloner and our community."  Chaloner’s next game is Monday, January 8th at Gaston.
