Welcome Message

Dear Belmont School Parents and Community,

It is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of Belmont Elementary School and to join this extraordinary school community. I hope that you and your family are enjoying the sultry days of summer and are eager for the beginning of a new school year.

I arrived at Belmont with 10 years experience serving as a classroom teacher. Over the past three years I have had the honor of being the Preschool Coordinator at Clara Hearne Early Childhood Center. In addition to my role as an educator, I am first and foremost a mother to my infant daughter, Kate Stone and my son James, who will begin Kindergarten as a Belmont Bee.

The 2021-2022 school year will mark my 14th year in education, and my 14th year with the Roanoke Rapids Graded School District. I was born and raised here in Roanoke Rapids and was a 2004 graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School. After receiving my undergraduate degree from Meredith College, I knew that I wanted to return to my hometown and work in the district that provided me with a solid formal education.

Although I always felt at home in the classroom, administration has allowed me to feel most fulfilled in my life’s work. The elementary principalship provides me the chance to work collaboratively with teachers on a daily basis, but more importantly, allows me to build relationships and remain connected to young students’ learning and growth in the classroom.

Through these relationships, I along with the entire Belmont staff will nurture instructionally, support instructionally, and challenge students instructionally to be the best they can be. We will always keep students the primary focus of our work.

To our Belmont Bees, I cannot wait to meet you! I hope you are excited for this new school year, learning and having fun together. Please know that my door is always open, and I welcome your positive input throughout the year. Further information will be forthcoming during the second week of August regarding Open House and meeting your child’s teacher. I look forward to seeing you soon.

Sincerely,

Lindsey L. Goble, M.Ed/MSA
