The Computer Science program in Roanoke Rapids Graded School District prepares students to succeed in an increasingly digital world. Students learn how computers work, how software is created, and how technology shapes the way we live, learn, and communicate.

Through engaging, hands-on activities, students explore coding, data analysis, web design, and real-world applications of technology. Our goal is to help students become critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, and ethical digital citizens who can use technology to make a positive impact.

Course Offerings

CS10 – Introduction to Computer Science
This foundational course introduces students to the basics of computer programming, algorithms, data, and digital systems. Students develop computational thinking skills and explore career opportunities in technology fields such as software development, cybersecurity, and data science.

CD10-Adobe Visual Design I
In this course, students learn the principles of graphic design and digital communication using Adobe Creative Cloud software. Through hands-on projects, they develop skills in image editing, layout design, and visual storytelling. Students create professional-quality digital artwork and explore careers in web design, digital media, and marketing.
