Roanoke Rapids Graded School District’s Maintenance Department takes pride in the work we do, because we know that ultimately what we do on a daily basis impacts the learning experience of students. We understand that in a globally competitive economy our children’s future is at stake. Our staff uses this sense of responsibility to mold the Department's attitude, direction, and value.

Roanoke Rapids Graded Schools Transportation Department provides bus transportation to all eligible students residing within their home school district who live one-and-a-half miles or more from school and to students with identified special needs. The system's transportation department is committed to providing these students with safe, efficient and reliable transportation service that contributes to their overall academic success.

Every day, more than 1,000 students in Roanoke Rapids are transported on 12 buses. Safety is our number one priority on these school buses and a group effort. Thanks to Roanoke Rapids School's students, parents, teachers, school administrators, drivers and transportation staff, there have been no instances of school bus occupant fatalities during Roanoke Rapids Graded Schools history.
