The Roanoke Rapids Graded School District Board of Trustees welcomed a new member at last Tuesday night's meeting. Halifax County Judge Teresa Freeman administered the oath of office to Steven Ellis, who will complete the term left vacant by the resignation of Jay Carlisle. His wife Laura held the Bible as their two children and Ellis' dad looked on. His term will go through 2025.
