The Littleton, NC based John 3:16 Center donated school supplies Friday afternoon to be distributed to students in need within the Roanoke Rapids Graded School District. Director Shannon McAllister said the center has been collecting supplies and soliciting monetary donations for several weeks in an effort to help area school students.
"Our hope is that this will relieve some of the burden on parents during this most unusual school year," said McAllister.
The John 3:16 seeks to address the impact of poverty and trauma on families with children in Halifax, Northampton, and Warren counties through advocacy, education, empowerment, and community collaboration.
