Knights of Columbus Donation

They’re known for their bright yellow aprons and the Tootsie Rolls they hand out in exchange for donations.  Now all that change people place in their buckets is funneling back into the community.

The Roanoke Rapids Chapter of the Knight of Columbus organization presented Manning Elementary, Belmont, Chaloner, and Roanoke Rapids High School Monday morning with checks totaling nearly $4,000.

The money was raised mostly during the holidays from the organization’s Tootsie Roll drive held outside local stores and private donations.

“The Lamb Foundation is an arm of the Knights of Columbus.  It stands for, least among my brethren.  This money is specifically to be used for people with intellectual disabilities. We’re proud of the money we were able to donate this year and know it will be put to good use right here in our community.  When people donate to us, I want them to know that the majority of it stays right here to help our community,” said Troy Allen, Knights of Columbus, LAMB Director.
