The Roanoke Rapids Graded School District Board of Trustees named Jennifer Ott Wednesday night as the new Principal at Manning Elementary. She is no stranger to the district having worked at Manning Elementary as a teacher, instructional coach, and Assistant Principal at Chaloner Middle prior to becoming the Assistant Principal last year at Belmont Elementary.
Mrs. Ott is a graduate of Chowan College with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and minor in psychology, Master’s in Elementary Education, and a Master’s in Executive Leadership Skills (School Admin) from Gardner Webb University. Ott will begin her new role July 1, 2022.
Lead Nurse Sara Council was named the new Director of Student Services. Council who is a Registered Nurse has served as school nurse and most recently as RRGSD’s Lead Nurse. She will be managing the school based mental health programs, serve as liaison for the district's homeless and foster youth programs, and oversee school safety.
Council is a Nationally Certified School Nurse with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Barton College. She is currently completing her Master’s in Nursing Leadership degree at Western Carolina University.
