Today is Random Act of Kindness Day! Our scholars at Clara Hearne have been learning about friendship and kindness all week. Local Postal Carrier, Ms. Richardson went above and beyond to enhance our learning experience regarding the postal service. Our scholars also purchased stamps and mailed love notes to their family. The Roanoke Rapids Graded School District Board of Trustees voted Tuesday night move to an optional face covering setting beginning Feb. 21 for all students, staff, and guests without any stipulations.
The vote included that students and staff will continue to be required to wear face coverings on all RRGSD transportation and in the Head Start program, as is required by current federal regulations.
The update to the Toolkit allows schools to end contact tracing, and no longer requires students or staff members who were a close contact to a person who tested positive for COVID-19 to quarantine. This change also goes into effect on Feb. 21.
Individuals who test positive must quarantine for five days and continue to wear a mask for five additional days after their quarantine period ends. Individuals unable or unwilling to wear a face covering for the additional five days will need to remain home. #TogetherWeSucceed
Nearly 200 area nursing home residents will be receiving something special this Valentine's Day thanks to our students. Belmont students have been learning about kindness this week and how they can make a difference in the community. The students wanted to act on what they learned by creating cards and goodie bags for local nursing home residents. We are so proud of them! #TogetherWeSucceed
