Updated Immunization & Physicals Reminder: PreK, Kindergarten, and 7th Grade students are required to have updated immunizations prior to starting school on August 23, 2021. Additionally, rising Seniors are required to have the meningococcal (Menactra) vaccine. September 23, 2021 is the deadline or Sept. 11 for RR Early College to submit your child’s records to their respective school nurse. This state mandate is for students who will be returning to in-person learning and those attending the RRGSD Virtual Academy. Students will not be allowed to return without the proper documentation. Appointments may be made with the Halifax County Health Department or your child's pediatrician. A COVID vaccine is not required for attendance. Medical Physicals are required for PreK, Kindergarten, and those moving from out of state or new to public schools. #KidsAreOurCustomer #BackToSchool

New adventures await our 5th graders as they head off to middle school. Today we celebrated them with a special recognition ceremony.
Congratulations to Abraham Howell who received the Mary D. Shearin Academic Excellence Award. This award is given to the 5th grade student who had the highest cumulative grade point average in all subject areas for grades 3-5.
William Hasty received this year’s Belmont Leadership Award. This award is given to the student who exemplified leadership in and out of school.




5th Grade Families: 5th-grade graduation is tomorrow, Tuesday, May 25th, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Belmont Auditorium/Cafeteria. Please be mindful that each student may invite two guests (adult or child). Infants who attend graduation will need a ticket to enter. This event will also be live-streamed on the RRGSD Public Information YouTube Channel. We look forward to seeing everyone as we celebrate our 5th Graders. #KidsAreOurCustomers

Proud of the work our second grade classes have been doing in recent weeks as they've been learning about the War of 1812. This led to a study about the economy both then and now. This project also helped students learn the value of money and hard work. #KidsAreOurCustomers




5th Grade Families: Belmont's 5th Grade Graduation will be held on Tuesday, May 25th from 1-2 pm in the Belmont Auditorium/Cafeteria. Each student may invite 2 people (adult or child) MAXIMUM! Guests will be symptom-screened at check-in. All must wear masks and stay 6 ft apart from other families while indoors. Guests are encouraged to stay in their seats until dismissed from their spots and all students may be dismissed for the day with their parents after the ceremony. This event will be live-streamed on the RRGSD Public Information YouTube Channel so that other family members may view the event. Teachers will be collecting RSVP information from all families soon via the Google Classroom. Please respond to help us plan. Belmont Families: It is time to return all district chrome devices and hotspots for maintenance over the summer and to prepare for EOG testing.
Face-to-face students will return their chrome devices, chargers, and hotspots (if they were assigned one) beginning May 10. Please return BOTH the device and charger to avoid any fines.
Virtual students will keep all items until 12:00pm on the last day of school, 5/28. Between 12:00-2:30pm on that date, parents will participate in a drive by drop off of all items in the bus circle. Please return BOTH the device and charger to avoid any fines. #KidsAreOurCustomers

Reminder: Required End-Of-Grade Testing for virtual students in grades 3-5 only will be ongoing at Belmont Elementary School from May 10th to May 12th. Your child and your child’s teacher have been working very hard all year! We ask that you drop your child off between 7:45 AM - 8:10 AM. Please be mindful that a cloth face covering must be worn at all times. You will need to pick up your child promptly at 12:15. Don't forget to bring your chromebook and charger with you. #KidsAreOurCustomers
