Roanoke Rapids Graded School District is proud to announce several leadership appointments for the 2025–2026 school year.
Tina Hantz has been named the director of Clara Hearne Pre-K Center. When asked about her new role, Hantz shared, “I’m excited for this new adventure and the opportunity to support our youngest learners.” Hantz brings 23 years of experience in education to the role, including 15 years of dedicated service to RRGSD. She most recently served as assistant principal at Chaloner Middle School. Hantz holds degrees from East Carolina University and Capella University.
Terkessha Odom will step into the role of director at ACES (Akers Center for Educational Success). With 23 years in education, Odom will begin her fifth year serving in the Roanoke Rapids Graded School District. She most recently served as assistant principal at Manning Elementary School. Odom holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K–6), a Bachelor of Science in Special Education, General Curriculum (K–12), and a Master’s degree in School Administration. When asked about her new role, Odom stated, “I’m looking forward to working with the ACES team to create a positive and supportive environment where every student can reach their potential.”
In addition, RRGSD is pleased to announce several new assistant principal appointments. Ashley Lynch, who recently completed her principal residency at Chaloner Middle School was named assistant principal at Manning Elementary School. Mrs. Lynch was previously a teacher at Roanoke Rapids Early College. Josh Clark, who recently completed his principal residency at Belmont Elementary School was named assistant principal at Chaloner Middle School. Mr. Clark was previously employed as a teacher at Roanoke Rapids High School. Jimmie Harris, former middle school dean of students at W.A. Patillo Middle School, will also join Chaloner Middle School as an assistant principal.
Superintendent Dr. Julie Thompson shared, “We are thrilled to welcome these new and returning leaders to their roles. Each of them brings a unique blend of experience, energy, and commitment to our students and school community. We look forward to a strong year of continued growth and collaboration.”
These administrators will begin their new roles this summer.
