Dr. Butler speaking to RRGSD leaders today about opening a CTE Center in Roanoke Rapids. Our students need vocational training. If we can train them, they stay here. It’s a win/win. It’s going to take a community effort. We will make this happen. #vocationaleducation #CTE #careertraining

Exam Update: Roanoke Rapids High School will give exams December 16th - 19th, with December 20th being our makeup day. All CTE and EOC courses will have their exams in the morning starting at regular time. All NCFE and teacher made exams will be in the afternoon. All students will be required to bring their chromebooks, fully charged, for all afternoon testing. If your student does not have the means to charge their chromebook at home, they can leave it in the media center all week. The afternoon exam students will arrive at school no later than 12:30 and drop off their chromebooks, fully charged, at their testing room where they will then report to the cafeteria until 1:10 for their exam. We are asking students to be on time for their exam and be prepared. The cafeteria will be open for breakfast and lunch with extended time for lunch (11:30 - 1:05). If you are a bus rider, buses will operate on a normal schedule with an additional pickup time for the afternoon exams starting at 12 noon.

Our hearts are heavy this morning after receiving news of the death of longtime English teacher Dallas Allen. Mr. Allen was a dedicated teacher and will be greatly missed around campus and in the community. We also understand this news is very difficult for all of us to accept and that we will need to support each other during the grieving process.   Students, we want you to know that your teachers and administrators are here to help you in any way that we can.   We have also set up our counseling staff in the media center to assist any students who may want or need to talk with someone about how they are feeling.
