Jacket Sports Update: Congratulations to our Girls Basketball team for winning their 3rd round playoff game at Hertford County on Saturday night. The Lady Yellow Jackets now advance to the Regional Semifinals (Elite 8 in the State). Our last girls basketball team to advance this far was in 1998. They will now travel to Farmville Central on Tuesday March 1 for their next game. Game time will be 6pm and admission will be $9 as Farmville Central will also host a boys game following the girls. Tickets will be sold at the gate and masks are optional at Farmville Central. #jacketproud

February marks Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Thanks to Kaynetta Robinson from Hannah’s Place in Roanoke Rapids for coming today to RRHS. Students learned about the "red flags" to look for in relationships. They also placed red flags around campus as a way of raising awareness. #TogetherWeSucceed

Congratulations! Four Jacket wrestlers will advance to the NCHSAA 2A State Wrestling Championship Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Wallace Bowser became only the third wrestler in school history to become Regional Champion. Bradley Moseley placed third, Logan Hall placed third and Gabriel Roberts placed third. To ensure safe travels home for Northern Nash and our fans we will not play the JV Boys game. The wrestling conference tournament scheduled for Saturday 1/22 at Southern Nash has been moved to Wednesday 1/26. Weigh Ins will be at 3pm with wrestling starting at 4pm. Tickets will be available on GoFan starting Tuesday 1/25.
The HOME women's basketball game with Bunn has been rescheduled for Thursday 2/3. Game time is set for 6pm. #JacketSports
RRHS Sports Update 1/19/22: The wrestling match at Franklinton scheduled for today has been postponed. We are tentatively scheduled to make it up tomorrow at Southern Nash. This will be dependent on the weather. Matches will start at 5pm if we can get them in. The basketball games at Home vs. Franklinton scheduled for Friday have been postponed. Congratulations to the Roanoke Rapids Wrestling Team who placed fourth in the Wynn-Butler Tournament today at North Pitt. Out of seven wrestlers, RRHS placed four in the finals. Gabriel Roberts was the 220 lb. Champion and Arvin Stokley was the 285 lb. Champion. Bradley Moseley placed second at 126 lbs and Wallace Bowser placed second at 152 lbs. Camden Gray, Brandon Marshall and Logan Hall placed top five in their weight classes. #JacketProud
